Learning Consultant
The Learning Consultant at SCB is blessed to work in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals to help make learning accessible to all our students. This role includes working closely with classroom teachers to provide accommodations and modifications in the child’s regular education classroom, partnering with the classroom teacher and team teaching to make sure all students' needs are met, designing instructional methods, activities, and materials that target learning goals, and meeting with students one-on-one or in a small group setting to differentiate instruction.
A student support plan which incorporates accommodations and modifications specific to that student can be written by the Learning Consultant for a child with a medical or educational diagnosis. If there are further academic concerns, a referral for educational testing is initiated by the Classroom Teacher and the Learning Consultant.
